For years, we looked to the Bolivarian experience with hope, recognizing it as an attempt to combat poverty and restore dignity to the native populations. But time and the stories coming out of that part of the world forced us to face a different reality: militarization, repression, human rights violations, a country stuck in a crisis that seemed to have no way out.
